Welcome to Week 10 of the college football season and it’s hard to believe we’re in November. This week was the first college playoff rankings with the top four teams being Alabama, Clemson, LSU and Notre Dame. The Michigan Wolverines and Georgia Bulldogs are the first two teams out, but that’ll change starting this weekend. It seems like I’m on a little win streak after going 5-0 last week, which makes me winning the last 9 games. My record jumps to 34-9, and my overall winning percentage goes from 75 to 79.1%. Georgia is looking to make a run similar to last year after blowing out their rival, Florida Gators. They will travel to Lexington this weekend to face the Kentucky for sole possession in the SEC East. This week I’ll be predicting another four games with the hopes of continuing my winning ways. Let’s Get Started!
We start off with possibly the game of the year between two top-3 teams. The top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide will travel to Baton Rouge to face the 3rd ranked LSU Tigers. Anytime you hear Alabama taking on LSU, you know we’re going to get a hard hitting and physical game. Whenever these two meets, the stakes are usually high as they’ve even met in the BCS Championship game after a classic battle. Many have called this Alabama team the best Nick Saban has ever had. Tua Tagovailoa is looking like the Heisman winner and one of the most efficient QBs ever. With LSU, the Crimson Tide haven’t faced any team as good as them. How will the Tide react to some adversity? Can the Tigers upset the Tide at their place during the night? I’m still rolling with the Tide.
Alabama Win 27-17
We stay in the SEC, but this time we’re headed to the SEC East. The 6th ranked Georgia Bulldogs will travel to Lexington to face the 9th ranked Kentucky Wildcats. After an embarrassing loss to LSU, Georgia rebounded in a major way with a blowout win over Florida. The Bulldogs are hoping to return to the SEC Championship game and the playoffs. Will the Bulldogs offense be able to run the ball on the Wildcats defense? As far as Kentucky, this is their biggest home game ever. The defense is tied for first in scoring and they have one of the best RBs in the country with Benny Snell Jr. Can they finally break through and take control of the SEC East? Kentucky is a wonderful team, but I think the Bulldogs will edge the Wildcats in a close game.
Georgia Win 26-23
We leave SEC country to head up north for a top-15 battle between Big Ten teams. The 14th ranked Penn State Nittany Lions will travel to Ann Arbor to face the 5th ranked Michigan Wolverines. Penn State have won two games in a row after dropping the previous two games. If Penn State is going to defeat the Wolverines, Trace McSorley will have to play the game of his life. Can the Nittany Lions head to Michigan and pull off the upset? After losing their first game to Notre Dame, the Wolverines have reeled off seven consecutive wins thanks to their defense. Michigan’s defense is giving up a little over 14 points a game and it seems like they’re getting stronger. The last two games against ranked teams, they’ve given up a total of 20 points. I’m going with the Wolverines to hand Penn State another loss.
Michigan Win 30-20
We have another game that features ranked teams with both in the top-20. The 13th ranked West Virginia Mountaineers will travel to Texas to face the 17th ranked Longhorns. The Mountaineers rebounded from their lone loss by blowing out Baylor. West Virginia will bring one of the best offenses in the country to Texas and they still control their own fate. Will the Mountaineers upset the Longhorns on the road? Texas is coming off a tough loss last weekend on the road to Oklahoma State. Like West Virginia, they also control their own destiny in the Big 12. Unlike West Virginia, they have already played and beat Oklahoma, so they’ll be in the driver’s seat with a win. I’m thinking Texas will rebound and beat the Mountaineers.
Texas Win 27-24
