Outside the Big 4 PPVs, Money in the Bank is my favorite one. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite PPVs and that’s including the big 4 PPVs. This year, they have another stacked card as it features both brands. Of course, we have the men and women MITB matches. A.J. Styles defends his WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura in a Last Man Standing match. Seth Rollins defends the Intercontinental title against Elias. Nia Jax will take on Ronda Rousey for her Raw Women’s title. On SmackDown Live, Carmella defends her Women’s Championship against Asuka. Roman Reigns battle Jinder Mahal and Daniel Bryan battles Big Cass. Also, we have Bobby Lashley taking on Sami Zayn. Let’s see how things will transpire at the Money in the Bank PPV.
Let’s start things off with the ladies and their Money in the Bank match. I’m expecting this to be better than the one last year. First off, I’m not expecting Lana to win unless Tamina were to return and help. Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks or Alexa Bliss doesn’t need it. Out of those three, Bliss could be the one to capture it as the storylines would be crazy with her holding the MITB briefcase. Ember Moon could be a dark horse, but with her making her debut not too long ago, that’s a long shot. Becky Lynch could use the briefcase as it seems like she’s been forgotten as with Naomi. Natalya could win it and possibly use it to mess with Ronda Rousey if she were to win the title. Natalya’s knee injury could come into play also, but Bliss is my pick to win it.
Winner: Alexa Bliss
Name a wrestler in the WWE has been hotter than Seth Rollins over the last few months? Seth Rollins defends his Intercontinental championship against Elias. This match could be the one that steals the entire show and that includes the MITB matches. Rollins is on a roll and Elias continues to get better in the ring. Is it time for Rollins to lose the title now? Let him hold the title for a little while longer as Elias will eventually become a champion. I’m picking Rollins to win this match and continue his great run as Intercontinental champion.
Winner: Seth Rollins
Ever since Daniel Bryan has been cleared, Big Cass has been causing havoc on him. At the Backlash PPV, Daniel Bryan made Big Cass tap out and now they’re here for a rematch. Many thought Big Cass could be out again because he was dealing with another knee injury. Cass returned to cost Daniel Bryan the opportunity to be a part of the MITB ladder match. We know that Daniel Bryan’s contract is up on September 1st and he hasn’t signed a new one. Could that be a factor in the outcome of this match? I’m still going with Daniel Bryan to find a way to beat the big man once again.
Winner: Daniel Bryan
You can say these have been feuding for a good minute now. Lashley was teaming with Braun Strowman to take on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. We all know Zayn had that horrible segment with Bobby Lashley’s “sisters” a few weeks back. If these guys are given an ample amount of time, they could put on a good wrestling match. I’m thinking the WWE has big plans for Bobby Lashley and believe he will walk away with the win in this one.
Winner: Bobby Lashley
Jinder Mahal has been a thorn in the side of Reigns since he returned to Raw. Mahal has cost Reigns a spot in the MITB ladder match and even laid out Reigns and Rollins also. I’m going to keep this short and sweet, they’re just giving Reigns something to do for now. I’m expecting him to beat Mahal and eventually get another shot at Brock Lesnar around Summerslam.
Winner: Roman Reigns
Carmella was the first woman to capture the Money in the Bank briefcase a year ago. It seems like she held the briefcase forever before cashing it in on Charlotte. Of course, she had help from the Iconics to finally secure the championship. Asuka is destined to be Women’s champion eventually, but will it be now? I’m thinking Asuka will dominate the match, but there’s rumors we could get a James Ellsworth appearance. If he does appear, he’ll probably cause Carmella to get DQ’d so she can keep the title. Ellsworth could appear and cost Carmella the title also. I’m picking Asuka to win by disqualification.
Winner by DQ: Asuka
This feud is starting to pick up steam as the PPV approaches. We all know that it was Nia Jax who challenged Ronda Rousey on the red carpet for this championship match. Is Ronda even ready for this opportunity? We all know her WrestleMania performance was as good as it gets. I’m expecting Jax to use her size and power against Rousey. Rousey will use her quickness and submission style to counter Jax at times. Ronda Rousey will not lose this match, but I don’t think she walks away with the championship just yet.
Winner: Don’t Know Who Wins, but this feud continues
We have another match between A.J. Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura. These two have been doing battle ever since WrestleMania when Nakamura turned heel on Styles. Each match they have had continues to get better. With this being a Last Man Standing Match, this should be a really good match. If this match goes last, the winner could still leave without the title because the MITB winner could cash in. This is a hard one to pick because I feel Nakamura could be a great heel champ. With Styles, he deserves to continue as WWE champ and I believe he will.
Winner: A.J. Styles
First off, who from the New Day will be in the match? Will all three of them compete? First off, Braun Strowman will show how strong he is in this match and I don’t think he wins either. Strowman doesn’t need the briefcase at all. You can make a case for the rest of the guys in this match though. It’s too early for Bobby Roode to challenge for the championship. I’m not sure they’re fully behind Rusev and the crowd doing the Rusev Day chants. Finn Balor will get close a couple of times but will fall short. Kevin Owens or The Miz would make for great television if they were to win it, but I don’t see it happening. I’m not seeing either member of New Day capturing it, but Big E would be a strong contender. I’m going with Samoa Joe to win.
New Mr. Money in the Bank: Samoa Joe
